HR Assistant

£27,000 - £28,000 a year (based on experience.) - Permanent, Full-time
Who we are
We are a dynamic HR Consultancy business based in the Toll Bar House Business Centre in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, providing HR and employment support to SMEs covering multiple industries. We are a small business but have ambitious plans for the future!
We have a range of retained and pay as you go clients ranging across a variety of industries, and we take pride in helping them deliver impact through their people.
What you’ll do
As a member of the Hello People Solutions team, you will be delivering first class HR support for a range of clients. The role is generalist and looks after the entire employee lifecycle for multiple retained clients, from onboarding, benefits, payroll to offboarding. If you are a strong administrator, have a passion for people and excellence, as well as the drive to progress, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities (Generalist HR )

Assisting the HR function to provide the best support possible to our clients, so strong organisational and administration skills are a must.

Co-ordinating the onboarding and offboarding process, including final pay calculations, preparing final holiday calculations, preparing and issuing letters and administering exit interviews.

Assisting with adhoc HR project work as instructed by the HR Consultants.

Assisting the HR Advisors with employee relations issues, including collating documentation and note taking during disciplinary/grievance hearings.

Maintaining our clients HR system (BreatheHR) ensuring data is correct, probationary periods are completed and right to work checks are in order and verified.

Meeting and greeting all visitors, ensuring a professional service is always given.

Implementing and supporting clients with HR systems.

To effectively manage the shared HR inbox, resolving queries and escalating/forwarding concerns to the HR Advisors for effective decision making and resolution.

Administration of company benefits, including pension, health benefits and discretionary benefits as part of the service for our clients.

Administration of absence including sickness, maternity and other family friendly leave, closely monitoring the HR system and providing advice as and when.

Prepare and issue offers of employment and new starter packs, tracking and checking receipt of new starter paperwork in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities (Recruitment)

Supporting clients with their recruitment and selection – including creating adverts, placing adverts, monitoring applications

Populating job descriptions

Liaising and supporting candidates with the interview process
Key Responsibilities (other)

Researching HR and Employment Law topics – creating the go to space for our clients

Preparing blogs and articles for newsletters on HR topics

Help to maintain content on the website and social media
What you’ll need to succeed
We are looking for someone with a ‘can do’ attitude, professional and able to build relationships easily (either over the phone or face to face). Ideally, you should have:

A solid background working in HR.

Exceptional attention to detail.
-
The ability to use varying HR pragmatic approaches to delivery solutions in response to business / client needs.

Great sense of humour, empathy, creative yet pragmatic.
-
Ideally qualified to CIPD level 3 although this is not essential.

You must be able to work with minimal supervision and manage your own workload but above all you will need to be 'a doer'.
